What’s new
Insights 2.0
- New data-sets have been introduced to the Insights module. These include data-sets for Block instances and Block sub-types.
- These data-sets allow for comprehensive granular reporting capabilities and aggregation across various parameters such as area, headcount, capacity, organization unit, building, floor, site, etc.
- Insights 2.0 also introduces the ability to view custom reports within the Saltmine design reports functionality and are contextual to the design file, scenario and project selected.
- Updates made to designs or scenarios are reflected on dashboards and reports every 60 mins.

Space Inventory
- Introducing Block-Rooms
- A new data layer extension has been added to Blocks to capture and identify unique instances on the floor plan with an ID. This ID is intended to capture the real-world Room/Space ID of meeting rooms, workstations, and other spaces that exist on a floor plan.
- The Block-room IDs may be used for interoperability purposes for mapping Room/Space IDs with other RE systems in the ecosystem, such as Utilization, Room booking or IWMS systems.
- Important: a row & column input may be provided on Block-rooms to split spaces such as workstation clusters so that each individual workstation may be assigned a Block-room ID. Similarly, a custom splitter may also be used when splitting non-rectalinear spaces, such as 120 degree workstations, etc.
- Customer Convention Building & Level IDs
- We’ve introduced ID’s to customer’s Building and Level IDs. These IDs are applicable for Buildings and Levels within a Site, and may be used for interoperability purposes to map real estate entities between various real estate systems, such as Utilization, Room-Booking or IWMS.
- New Level Numbering Schema (LNS)
- A new level numbering schema is now available to uniquely identify levels or floors that are created on the platform.
- This captures basement, over-ground levels or mezzanine levels that may be created and uses a 3-digit standard starting with 001 to represent the appropriate level on the building. Sub-levels may also be captured using letters of the alphabet.
- The scenario dialog has been updated to capture the LNS ID. The pages within the Strategy, design and site have also been updated to reflect the LNS ID.
Employee Heartbeat
Employee heartbeat is a new module for customers to manage, create and analyze surveys within Saltmine in order to capture employee feedback. Users can:
- Create surveys of different complexity using various types of questions.
- Create campaigns and target employees based on location and designation.
- Map different block types.
- Use employee heartbeat on mobile, as well as a web-based survey app to capture responses.
- Review campaigns results at Analysis page

Space Temperature & External Data
Includes a brand new component that allows to ingest, process and display utilization data from various sources such as room booking, sensors and badging data.
- Ability to upload manually or through SFTP the following types of utilization data: Room Booking, Sensors and Badging data.
- Mapping External rooms with Saltmine blocks through g “Block-Room ID” field on the Designer.
- Utilization Dashboard displaying the aggregated data for Spaces and Attendance.
- Spaces represent room booking and sensor data.
- Attendance represents badging data.
- Badging data
- Introduced new type of data representing the attendance of the office by employees
- Badge mapping
- Badge reader to Site to identify the location
- Badge id to employee.
- New tab “Attendance” on Utilisation Dashboard with three widgets:
- Average Attendance – Average number of hours spent in the office.
- Utilization data on the Program.
Program enhanced with new columns:- “Utilisation %” – Average percentage of occupancy of specific block or block sub-types.
- “Group Distribution” – Group of people occupied the room split based on number of attendees. Eg:
- Group of two people: 50%
- Group of three people: 30%
- Group of four people: 20%
What’s updated?
User Management
- User Types
- Admin, Standard, and Guest user types are now consolidated under a single option while adding a new user or editing details of an existing user.
- User types can now be easily converted to different types through the user dialog.
- Adding Multiple Users To Projects
- Multiple users can now be added in a single action. This can be done by searching and selecting different users and/or through the addition of User groups
- Multiple users can now be added in a single action. This can be done by searching and selecting different users and/or through the addition of User groups
- IdP & SSO Enhancement
- The login page of the platform has been enhanced to support multiple identity providers and SSO.
Project Request
- Customers can create a set of questionnaire templates and let employees submit requests for new projects using it.
- Assigned team members will receive permission to create project requests and key in details using the survey. Project details may contain the additional information provided by employee during submission
- Project managers can approve or reject the request.
Designer
What’s new?
HD Render
- High definition renders may now be requested directly from the designer and are auto-generated in the Files section within 30-60 minutes, depending on render size.
- HD Renders are controlled by licenses and quotas per contract, please contact your Customer Success team for more details.
- Enhancements to support HD renders also includes an updated user interface and flow on the designer.
Automated polylining
- Our CAD export has been significantly enhanced to support new P-line layers for IWMS interoperability. These include new layers for block boundaries and non-block boundaries, block-room IDs and names, and an exterior gross layer generated automatically per defined area configuration (such as BOMA).
- These updates also include automatically generated P-lines for Workstation clusters.
- The DXF file can now be directly exported in imperial or metric units as needed, based on the selected unit system on the designer.
What’s updated?
- Performance enhancements
- Save and Auto-Save performance has been enhanced. The performance-heavy calculation of boundaries based on area configuration now happens on a background thread so that users can proceed with their current operation while save occurs in the backdrop.
- Picture frame upload: Pictures uploaded to the picture frame tool are now resized to a max resolution of 1000×1000.
- Columns stacked materials
- Column entities now support stacked material.
